Duration

Arrive at White Shark Diving Co. to start your morning with a Shark Cage Diving and Viewing excursion, the duration of which is approximately 4 hours from your arrival at our premises to your departure. From there you will travel to your next location for the scenic whale watching flight along the coast.

The aircraft runway is located on a beautiful wine estate in Stanford, the small historical town 30 minutes’ drive from Kleinbaai and en-route back to Hermanus and Cape Town.

Enjoy your 45min or 60min flight along the coast and over breath-taking ocean scenes giving you the eagles’ view of whales in the bay. Land back in Stanford where you can relax at the wine estate for a meal and beverage or depart on a relaxing coastal drive back to Cape Town.

Please have the full day available to enjoy these combined activities, by land, sea and air as start times will vary depending on daily weather and sea conditions.

Transport:

Private or shared day transfers are available providing a dedicated driver and vehicle to you/your group for the duration of the day. This allows for an early-morning collection in Cape Town, transfer to the shark cage diving site for the morning dive, transfer to the flight runway for the aerial whale watching journey and road transfer back to your accommodation, to arrive in Cape Town by late afternoon.

Whale Watching Flight

Whale watching trips take place from June to December however, should the whales change their migration schedule (arrive early and leave later) we will adjust our schedule accordingly.

Our adventure flight specialist and senior pilot has more than 3700 hours of flying experience as well as an ALTP licence and has flown air transport as far afield as Central Africa and the Middle East. He has explored the wildest places in Africa alongside his family from a very young age and there is no man better to take you on an adventure flight along the coast.

The small commercial aircraft takes off from the beautiful Stanford Hills wine estate and flies across the whole of Walker Bay from Hermanus to Gansbaai and toward Cape Agulhas while locating whales at sea and allowing close aerial viewing. The plane glides above the ocean for clear view of mothers with their calves as well as whale activity such as breaching, spyhopping, lobtailing, and sailing.

Observing these magnificent creatures while flying is a truly breath-taking experience. The sheer size and the majesty of their presence can be appreciated in full when viewing from above and the excitement is tangible during each thrilling moment.

Departure
After landing, relax at the picturesque wine estate restaurant or depart with your driver on the beautiful drive back to Cape Town.
